A new business networking group is launching in Bradford-on-Avon, and it promises to offer something genuinely useful for owners who want more than a collection of business cards.
Your Mastermind Group Business Networking, known as YMG, has been created by Pete and Joanne for owners of established, owner-managed businesses. The first event will take place on Wednesday 12th August at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, with further meetings planned for the second Wednesday of every month.
The idea behind YMG is refreshingly straightforward. It is about bringing business owners together for better conversations, practical ideas and valuable connections that can help make their businesses easier to run.

Many business owners understand the feeling of constantly running on the business hamster wheel.
There are always customers to support, staff to manage, decisions to make and problems that require immediate attention. Even when a business is performing well, the person running it can still feel overwhelmed, isolated or unsure about what the next step should be.
YMG has been designed to provide a space where business owners can step away from the daily pressures, meet people facing similar challenges and have honest conversations about what it really takes to build and manage a successful company.
Rather than focusing entirely on referrals or sales pitches, the meetings will encourage members and visitors to share their experiences, ideas and practical solutions.
It is the type of networking event Pete and Joanne say they would genuinely want to attend themselves.
The message behind Your Mastermind Group is:
Better conversations. Better businesses. Better life.
Most networking events can help people meet new contacts. YMG wants to go a step further by helping attendees leave with new ideas, stronger relationships and useful advice they can apply within their businesses.
The meetings are exclusively for business owners, which means everyone in the room will understand the responsibilities and pressures that come with running a company.
Whether someone is currently struggling with time, leadership, profitability, recruitment or the general complexity of their business, they will be surrounded by people who understand those challenges.
Sometimes the most valuable part of networking is not receiving an immediate referral. It is having a conversation with another business owner who has previously faced the same problem and is willing to explain what worked for them.
That type of honest and practical conversation can be incredibly valuable.
Alongside the opportunity to network, each meeting will include a YMG Business Insight.
This will be a practical business lesson designed to help attendees build companies that are more efficient, profitable and enjoyable to run.
The aim is not to overwhelm people with theory. The focus will be on useful ideas that business owners can take away and put into practice.
That could mean looking at how to manage a team more effectively, improve profitability, regain control of time or create systems that allow a business to operate without the owner needing to be involved in every single decision.
Attendees will also have opportunities to discuss the insight with other people in the room, sharing their own experiences and learning from one another.
The meetings will be held at Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Bradford-on-Avon.
The venue provides a professional but relaxed environment where attendees can enjoy tea, coffee and pastries while building relationships with other local business owners.
The morning will include informal networking, introductions, the YMG Business Insight and further opportunities for meaningful conversations.
Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards or a QR code so that people can easily connect with them following the event.
A delegate list will also be shared with attendees after each meeting, helping everyone continue conversations and explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
Wiltshire, Bath and the surrounding areas have a fantastic business community.
There are thousands of talented, knowledgeable and ambitious business owners across the region. However, many of them rarely have the chance to meet outside of their normal working environments.
Groups such as YMG create an opportunity for these people to come together, exchange ideas and develop trusted professional relationships.
Strong networking is rarely about attending one meeting, delivering a sales pitch and expecting an immediate return.
It is about consistently showing up, getting to know people and finding ways to support one another.
Over time, those relationships can lead to referrals, partnerships, introductions, collaborations and friendships. They can also provide business owners with a valuable support network during difficult or uncertain periods.
At Calibre 100, we are proud to support Your Mastermind Group and other quality networking organisations throughout the region.
We have always believed that business networking groups should not view one another as competitors.
Every group has its own format, personality and purpose. Some people prefer morning meetings, while others enjoy evening events. Some want structured referral networking, while others are looking for strategic conversations, learning opportunities or access to senior decision-makers.
The more opportunities business owners have to meet, share knowledge and support one another, the stronger our entire local business community becomes.
Calibre 100, YMG, Aspire Networking and other established groups can all play an important role. By supporting and promoting one another, we can help more businesses form meaningful connections and ultimately succeed.
Networking works best when it is collaborative rather than territorial.
The first Your Mastermind Group Business Networking event takes place on Wednesday 12th August at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, Bradford-on-Avon, BA15 2PQ.
It is exclusively for business owners who are interested in better conversations, practical ideas and building a business that is easier to run.
