Speaker Agreement
Thank you so much for agreeing to speak at a monthly Calibre 100 event, co-owned by Paul Turner and Darren Earney. We can’t wait to hear your talk! Below you’ll find what we ask of you and what you can expect from us, in plain English. Paul Turner looks after all our speakers, so he is your first point of contact.
1. Your fee, and what it covers
Thank you in advance for your talk! The fee is the amount agreed with Paul Turner and signed off by Darren Earney by email. It is the full and final payment, and it isn’t increased by any other cost.
To keep things clear, the fee doesn’t cover (and Calibre 100 is unable to pay) any of the following:
We kindly ask that you find the venue yourself and meet all of the costs above, unless Paul Turner and Darren Earney both agree otherwise by email (see point 7). Any such agreement can be made with you or your manager.
The essentials
Points 2 to 5. These are the things that matter most on the night, so please take a moment to read them.
Payment
We’ll pay your fee within 10 working days after the date of the event.
Your fee is the amount agreed with Paul Turner and signed off by Darren Earney by email, as set out in point 1. It covers your talk only, and no other costs.
Arrival
Please arrive at the venue by 5:30pm, which is 30 minutes before the event starts at 6:00pm.
That gives us time to welcome you and check that your slides are ready before the event begins. If you’re running late, please let Paul Turner know as soon as you can. You’ll find the venue and directions on our getting-there page.
Slides and equipment
- Please send Paul Turner your complete slide deck, as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file only, at least 15 working days before the event.
- Please don’t bring your own laptop, clicker or any other IT equipment, as all slides are shown from Calibre 100’s equipment.
- Unfortunately, if the deck arrives late or you bring your own equipment, we won’t be able to provide a visual presentation and you would speak without slides.
If you cannot attend
We understand that things can change. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please let Paul Turner know as soon as you can. We also ask that you allow Calibre 100 to tell everyone who paid, is a member or planned to attend why the event has changed, as people may have travelled or made plans around your talk.
Your quick checklist
Four simple steps, in order, so nothing gets missed.

Email your PowerPoint (.pptx) deck to Paul at least 15 working days before the event.
Plan your journey using our getting-there page. Travel and parking are arranged and paid for by you.
We pay your fee within 10 working days after the date of the event.
6. Getting there
We hope our guide to parking, train times and accommodation ideas is helpful. It’s offered as a guide only, and Calibre 100 is unable to accept responsibility for:
- The transport you choose (train, bus, car or any other method)
- Where you stay
- Your personal safety
- Any difficulty finding the venue
7. Changes, and which terms apply
So that everyone is clear, this agreement can only be changed on a specific point if both owners of Calibre 100, Paul Turner and Darren Earney, agree by email. Other changes, promises or verbal agreements can’t be relied upon.
We appreciate that you may have your own terms of engagement. To keep things simple and fair for every speaker, we kindly ask that these Calibre 100 terms apply where they differ from any other terms, unless Paul Turner and Darren Earney both agree otherwise by email.
8. Accepting this agreement
To accept, please email info@calibre100.com with the words “I accept the Calibre 100 Speaker Agreement”, your full name and the event date. Your reply will serve as your signature. Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you!
